Harvard Summer Chorus
The chorus, founded in 1936, is led by Dr. Andrew Clark, Harvard University’s Director of Choral Activities. The ensemble is open by placement interview to only Harvard Summer School students and Harvard undergraduate and graduate students  for the 2022 summer.

Placement interviews for Summer School students will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 between 6:30pm and 10:00pm in Holden Chapel and consist of singing a simple melody and a few vocal exercises. Students can sign up for an 8-minute appointment at this link. Final decisions on acceptance into the chorus will be announced shortly thereafter via email.

Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00pm to 9:30pm, in Holden Chapel, starting Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

The culminating performance is scheduled for the evening of Friday, July 29, 2022  in Sanders Theatre, Memorial Hall. There will be a dress rehearsal  in Sanders Theatre on Thursday, July 28, 2022.

The Audition Process
The Summer Chorus features singers from all different experience levels. Every year, students who have never tried singing before make it into the Chorus alongside members who have been singing for years. Whether you're experienced or new to singing, we encourage you to try an audition. Hope to see you this summer!

What to Expect at Your Placement Interview/Audition
Auditions for the Harvard Summer Chorus are open to any students of the Harvard Summer School, and any interested members of our local community. To audition, you do not need to sign up for a time in advance, and you do not need to prepare anything in advance. Just come and sing! The audition includes a warmup, some ear exercises, singing a simple song you know (usually "Happy Birthday"), and a short sight-reading excerpt, and lasts less than 8 minutes.
There is no need to prepare anything in advance.

Regular Rehearsal Schedule
Please avoid scheduling classes and other commitments during these times:
Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7:00pm-9:15pm (Holden Chapel)
