Naomi Bennett is a choral conductor, composer, and singer. Most recently, she served as the director of choral music at Marshfield High School (Coos Bay, Oregon), as well as artistic director of the Corvallis Community Choir (Corvallis, Oregon). Bennett won the Kraft Choral Composition Challenge with her composition So Sings Yosemite for choir, piano, and marimba, premiered by the Oregon State University Chamber Choir in June 2021. Her a cappella piece, If You Need Me, I’ll Be at the Beach was premiered by the Boston Conservatory Graduate Choir in 2022. As a performer, Bennett has sung soprano and alto in ensembles such as the Boston Conservatory Graduate Choir, Corvallis Repertory Singers, and OSU Chamber Choir. She has also performed as an ensemble member and soloist in large works such as Lord Nelson Mass (Haydn), Te Deum (Bruckner), To Be Certain of the Dawn (Paulus), Chichester Psalms (Bernstein), Messiah (Handel), and soprano soloist for Symphony No. 2 “Voices” (Stephenson). She also plays trombone wherever she can. Bennett is currently the M.M. ‘24 Choral Conducting candidate at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and received her B.A. in music education from Oregon State University in 2020.
