Don't miss this one-night choral opera premiere by the Harvard Choruses. American Jezebel is an opera in two acts that tells the story of the trial of Anne Hutchinson and the various conflicts within the Puritan settler community around Cambridge.
Conducted by Dr. Hana J. Cai, this production features Sarah Joyce Cooper as Anne Hutchinson, Sumner Thompson as John Winthrop, Elisabeth Marshall as Margaret Winthrop, Kristen Watson as Mary, and Gene Strenger as Tom and Henry Vane. The Harvard Choruses - Radcliffe Choral Society, Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum, and Harvard Glee Club - join our soloists on stage for the premiere. The music and libretto is written by James Kallembach and commissioned by the Harvard Choruses. |
